SUM and GUM updated!

The main booklets of SUM and GUM have been updated! Why?
- To make their purposes clearer than ever
- To improve their explanations and how they work together
- To boost their clarity and grammar thanks to the proof-editing of Kelly Wardle
SUM v8.0: What’s new?
- Design exploration based scenes:
- Location features
- Core challenge
- Challenge circumstances
- Design combat based scenes:
- Terrain features
- Enemy tactics
- Enemy composition
- Flesh out investigation scenes:
- Type of clue
- Revealing finding
- Opposition activity
These were originally located in GUM, but were rewritten from scratch, and ported to SUM where they make much more sense in terms of Scene Unfolding capabilities. Character archetypes have been moved to GUM. This way, GUM takes care of creating things, where SUM brings them to life.
GUM v2.2: What’s new?
- Character generators have been expanded with the following:
- Create a character by their edge
- Create a character by their flaw
- Create a character by their main weapon
- Create a character by their past and childhood
- Quick character archetypes (brought in from SUM)
- Faction generators have also been expanded with:
- Create a faction by its Society
- Create a faction by its Beliefs
- Create a faction by its Political System
With this, your Faction world building will be upgraded with infinite amount of combinations! These changes lead to specialize GUM further in Game Preparation and World Building, leaving SUM take care of Scene Development and in-game matters.
These changes will land on PUM Companion v2.2 sometime during March!
